Service providers are faced with optimizing

their existing network infrastructure to

wireline services have been delivered

across disparate networks, each with its

to Internet Protocol (IP) is enabling the

The ADTRAN Total Access® 5000 is

and aggregation platform that bridges the

gap between existing and next-generation

emerging services such as IP Television

(IPTV) and Voice over IP (VoIP) across

both copper and fiber interfaces while

simultaneously supporting legacy services

including basic POTS and DS1. This broad

range of services is possible because of

the pure IP/Ethernet core of the Total

Access 5000. All incoming services are

converted to packet and transported across

the backplane, creating a scalable service

without stranding existing services.

including POTS, DSL, PON and Ethernet

across a pure Ethernet core. This robust
